India is a multifaceted country when it comes to culture and tradition and Indian weddings become a beautiful picture painted with vibrant shades of various festivities making them a joyful celebration of love in the most unique way. As documentary wedding photographers, each wedding shoot for us is an opportunity to not just capture the photos, but also seal the moment and tell the story of their union through couple photography.
We have been fortunate to witness the wonderful diversity of the country in its most unique way, where each wedding is a reflection of love intertwined with heritage. Yet, the thrill reaches new heights when one gets to capture the beauty of rituals of the crown of India - Kashmir, won’t you agree?
We got an opportunity to capture our very first Kashmiri wedding, held at the mesmerising Tijara fort in Rajasthan. The wonderful union of Sandini and Anshuman, an experience we would like to call nothing less than a masterpiece painted with grace of Kashmir in the breathtaking landscapes of Rajasthan.
Sandini, our beautiful bride, with her keen eye as an art director, curated every detail, from the delicate decor to the subtle styling, infusing the festivities with her personal touch. With the planning phase spanning over a year filled with anticipation and excitement, where we stood as silent witnesses to dreams taking shape.
The wedding photoshoot included the serene Haldi and Chooda ceremony, along with a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony. Though traditionally Chooda ceremony is not a part of Kashmiri Wedding festivities, our beautiful bride wanted it for herself. A beautiful early morning ceremony with close friends and family welcomed by her father where each picture from the ceremony, be it Sandini’s solo portraits or the ceremony, are like a testimonial to the memorable start to the celebrations.
The joyful Haldi ceremony followed, benefitted from unexpectedly pleasant weather, much to the delight of everyone, especially us! The sunshine added a natural glow, enhancing the beauty of the occasion. An unplanned performance by Sandini’s childhood friends brought a wave of nostalgia and joy, evoking heartfelt emotions that were perfectly captured in the photos. The day culminated in a coordinated photoshoot session, transitioning smoothly into the main wedding event.
Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, creating a picturesque setting that truly was a photographer's dream. The seamless flow of events and the evident love and coordination among family members contributed to a wedding that was as visually stunning as it was emotionally resonant.
From the harmonious dance of pastels and prints of Haldi ceremony to the alluring trio of white, gold and greys of the D-day, the wedding photoshoot stood out in its own way. Be it the simplicity of the Haldi ceremony or the intimacy of the wedding and Chooda ceremony, everything about their union was authentic, emotive, and deeply personal.
Under the warm embrace of the Sun and against the backdrop of ancient walls of the fort, we captured them in the amber glow of love, draped in the colour of love - red, stealing glances at each other, excited for the future filled with love and only love. We are so grateful to them for entrusting us with the task of translating their vision into visual poetry - an experience we will cherish forever!
Along with us, a team of magicians also played their part in making this wedding shoot an experience of a lifetime. Here are the painters who helped us paint this masterpiece!
